Job summary

Amgen in Thousand Oaks, CA is seeking an Associate Scientist - Biology to advance RNA therapeutics and genetic medicines. You will work across biology and chemistry to drive oligonucleotide discovery and delivery to new cellular targets, enabling therapeutic modularity.

The role emphasizes hands-on experiments in molecular biology, cell culture, and in vivo studies, with opportunities to apply AI-enabled workflows and contribute to a dynamic cross-functional team.

Qualifications

• Hands-on with molecular and cellular biology techniques and assays incl. transfection, isolation, and analysis of proteins/RNA.
• Experience developing and automating high throughput RT-qPCR and RNA-seq workflows.
• Knowledge of mammalian tissue culture, cell-based assays, and primary cells.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute in vivo pharmacology studies with model systems, dosing, and sample collection.
• Perform molecular biology and cellular assays to generate actionable data.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to drive innovation in RNA therapeutics.
