Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Scientist in Cell Engineering & Functional Target Validation to advance surface biology targets. You will engineer cell models, develop reporter systems, and run functional assays to support early validation decisions.

The role requires hands-on genome editing and flow cytometry, with collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to drive patient-focused research and therapy development.

Qualifications

• PhD in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biotechnology or related field with strong problem-solving skills.
• Experience with precision genome editing: KO, KI, KA using CRISPR systems.
• Multi-color flow cytometry, staining, and FACS for target validation.
• Development and optimization of cell-based functional assays and reporter systems.
• Experience generating stable cell lines and reusable reporter models.
• Collaborative work style with clear communication in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement genome editing strategies to create surface target validation models.
• Engineer reporter cell lines and quantify target expression and localization.
• Develop functional assays using luminescence and fluorescence readouts.
• Perform flow cytometry, cell sorting, and validate engineered cells for downstream work.
• Maintain electronic notebooks and present data in project forums.
