Job summary

Kids for the Future in Lancaster, NY is seeking an Item and Routing Creation Specialist to maintain item master data and production routings in our ERP system. This role supports manufacturing operations by creating new item records and establishing accurate production routings to ensure smooth scheduling and inventory control.

You will collaborate with engineering, production, purchasing, and planning teams to ensure data accuracy and effective ERP-driven processes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred in Business, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing, ERP data entry, production planning, or inventory control.
• Experience with ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite or similar).
• Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and basic computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain item master records in the ERP system.
• Enter and update product specifications, units of measure, item descriptions, and classification data.
• Ensure all new part numbers are created according to company standards.
• Maintain accurate inventory and purchasing attributes.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing routings within the ERP system.
• Enter production steps, work centers, labor standards, and machine times.
• Support production planning by ensuring routing accuracy for scheduling and capacity planning.
• Audit item, BOM, and routing data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Identify and correct discrepancies in ERP system records.
• Maintain documentation for data standards and procedures.
• Work closely with engineering, production, purchasing, and inventory teams to gather required information.
• Assist with ERP data requests from internal departments.
• Support new product introductions by preparing necessary system data.
• Generate reports related to item setup, BOM structures, and routings as requested.
• Assist with ERP system data cleanup projects.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to data management.
