Job summary

Atmos Energy Corporation is seeking a data governance professional to manage item master data across ERP systems. You will ensure accurate item attributes, coding, pricing, and product hierarchies while collaborating with Product Standards, Engineering and suppliers.

The role requires a bachelor's degree with 3 years of item management or related experience, or a GED with 5 years of related work. Strong data governance, auditing and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance or related field with 3 years' item management or master data experience.
• Alternative: GED (or high school) with 5 years of related progressive experience in item management or procurement operations.
• Strong data governance, process documentation and governance knowledge required.
• Excellent communication and basic computer skills to use business software.

Responsibilities

Primary Duties

• 1. Review and process item setup requests, change requests, and data corrections in a timely manner. Create, update, and deactivate item records in the ERP system in accordance with established procedures and governance standards.
• 2. Maintain critical item attributes including descriptions, classifications, units of measure, commodity codes, pricing information, sourcing details, inventory settings, and product hierarchies. Enforce data standards, naming conventions, and business rules.
• 3. Collaborate with Product Standards and Quality, Engineering, and Suppliers to ensure new item requests follow the appropriate review and approval process, to gather all pertinent item attributes, and to stay abreast of changes.
• 4. Monitor item master data quality and perform regular audits to identify inaccuracies, duplicates, or incomplete records to ensure consistency and accuracy of item data across ERP and related business systems.
• 5. Maintain documentation of data governance policies and procedures.
• 6. Serve as a subject matter expert for item master data processes and system functionality. Investigate and resolve data-related issues impacting business operations. Identify opportunities to streamline item creation and maintenance processes.
• 7. Support audits, compliance activities, and reporting requirements.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Educational/Experience Level

• 1. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Finance, Business Administration or a related field and three years related professional experience in item management, master data, product data administration, procurement operations, or a related function.
• 2. A general educational knowledge normally acquired through a high school diploma or a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and five years related progressively responsible experience in item management, master data, product data administration, procurement operations, or a related function.

Communication Skills

Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers in order to obtain and/or provide explanations and/or information. Requires excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to explain technical or complex concepts to individuals.

Numeric Skills

Requires the ability to apply research methods, and/or advanced statistical and/or accounting methods.

Computer Skills

Requires basic computer skills in order to utilize various software applications for developing documents, reports and graphics.

Physical Demands

Requires occasionally performing activities including, but not limited to, bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and/or lifting.

Work Conditions

Works in an office environment.
