Job summary

Motive Workforce is seeking a hands-on Director of Business Systems & AI to lead a major ERP modernization and to own the company’s AI roadmap. You will work closely with leadership, accounting, project management, and field operations to automate workflows, improve data quality, and implement systems that drive profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in business systems, ERP, finance systems, or a related area, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
• Experience leading ERP implementations or migrations through go-live.
• Strong understanding of construction or field-service accounting (job costing, WIP, progress billing, retainage, certified payroll).
• Experience managing outside consultants, implementation partners, and technology vendors.
• Practical experience implementing AI, automation, analytics, or other tech solutions driving measurable business results.
• Strong communication and project leadership skills with executives, accounting, project managers, field leaders, and tech partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end ERP migration from Foundation Software to Sage, including planning, implementation, go-live, and stabilization.
• Own scope, timeline, budget, risks, and executive reporting for ERP projects.
• Manage Sage implementation partner to ensure deliverables, quality, and cost control.
• Design future-state processes for job costing, WIP, AP/AR, progress billing, and related areas.
• Oversee data cleanup, mapping, migration, and reconciliation for customers, vendors, jobs, cost codes, and COA.
• Coordinate Sage integrations with field service, estimating, project management, payroll/HR, banking, and document management systems.
• Lead system testing, UAT, training, and cutover planning; develop SOPs and adoption across teams.
• Oversee Sage administration, security roles, reporting, and internal controls; maintain data quality for AI readiness.
• Develop and maintain a practical AI roadmap aligned with priorities and ROI; collaborate with external AI partner.
