Aligned Talent Acquisition is partnering with a nationally recognized Am Law firm to hire an Employee Benefits & ERISA Associate Attorney in Cleveland or Cincinnati, Ohio. The role offers exposure to sophisticated ERISA, retirement and executive compensation matters.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience, knowledge of defined contribution/benefit plans, ESOPs, and familiarity with M&A-related benefits issues, with strong research, drafting, and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience handling ERISA, employee benefits, and/or executive compensation matters.
• Experience with defined contribution plans, defined benefit plans, ESOPs, and employee welfare benefit plans.
• Familiarity with executive compensation arrangements and employee benefits issues arising in mergers and acquisitions.
• Strong understanding of ERISA, applicable tax laws, and related employee benefits regulations.
• Excellent legal research, drafting, analytical, and communication skills.
• Strong organizational, time management, and project management abilities.
• A collaborative, team-oriented approach to working with colleagues and clients.

Responsibilities

• Design, draft, and advise on retirement and employee benefit plans, including defined contribution and defined benefit arrangements.
• Work on ESOPs, employee welfare plans, and executive compensation programs.
• Provide employee benefits guidance and transactional support in mergers and acquisitions.
• Research and advise on complex ERISA, tax, and regulatory compliance issues.
• Collaborate with experienced attorneys on sophisticated client matters across multiple industries.
