Transamerica, a leading life insurance and retirement solutions provider, seeks an attorney to support retirement plan businesses. You will be a key member of a team delivering strategic legal guidance for recordkeeping and plan administration.

The role involves contract negotiation, regulatory disclosures, and collaboration with multiple internal stakeholders to deliver practical, cost-effective solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• JD from ABA-accredited law school.
• Bar in good standing in a U.S. jurisdiction.
• Two+ years of ERISA/retirement plans experience.
• Ability to translate complex regulations into business solutions.
• Proficient using MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal support for retirement plan recordkeeping and plan administration products and services (401(k), 403(b), 457(b), defined benefit, and other plans).
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and documents with vendors and TPAs.
• Develop guidance on plan documents, notices, and ERISA disclosures.
• Monitor regulatory developments and brief stakeholders on impacts.
• Draft regulatory responses to examinations and inquiries (DOL/IRS/PBGC).
• Advise on plan sponsor and participant issues and operational matters.
• Collaborate with compliance, risk, product, sales, and other teams to implement policies.
