Job summary

Transamerica seeks an attorney to join our retirement plan team, providing strategic legal guidance on recordkeeping and plan administration products and services. You will collaborate across legal and business partners to deliver practical, compliant solutions in a fast-paced environment, while staying current on ERISA and related regulations.

Hybrid office location in Baltimore with opportunities for growth and cross‑functional exposure. The role requires a JD, active U.S.

Qualifications

JD from ABA-accredited law school is required.
Bar admission in good standing in any U.S. jurisdiction.
Two or more years of ERISA/retirement plans experience in a sophisticated setting.
Strong written and oral communication, sound judgment, and agility in a fast-paced corporate environment.

Responsibilities

Provide legal support for retirement plan recordkeeping and plan administration products and services (401(k), 403(b), 457(b), etc.).
Assist with drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts including recordkeeping, trust/custodial, vendor and TPA agreements.
Develop expertise on plan documents, notices, ERISA disclosures, and plan governance issues.
Monitor regulatory developments and brief stakeholders on business impact.
Draft regulatory responses to examinations and inquiries (DOL/IRS/PBGC).
Advise on sponsor and participant issues, operational concerns, and complaints as appropriate.
