Job summary

Jackson Lewis P.C. is seeking a Mid-Level to Senior Associate or Of Counsel with strong ERISA experience focused on multiemployer pension and welfare funds. The role may reside in New York City or Los Angeles, with opportunities for collaboration across offices.

The candidate will advise employers on compliance with ERISA, withdrawal liability, and related fiduciary matters, and will engage in arbitration, mediation, and litigation. Strong writing and advocacy are essential.

Qualifications

• ERISA knowledge and multiemployer funds experience
• Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
• Ability to manage complex projects independently and as part of a team
• Experience representing employers in arbitration, mediation, and litigation

Responsibilities

• Advise employers on compliance with ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, DOL, PBGC, and IRS regulations
• Counsel employers on withdrawal liability assessments and collections, funding issues, mergers, and restructuring
• Advise employers on plan documents, trust agreements, collection policies, and settlement agreements
• Represent employers in arbitrations, mediations, and litigation involving withdrawal liability and fiduciary matters
• Monitor regulatory and case law developments impacting employers contributing to multiemployer plans
