Job summary
SME Steel is seeking a Design Engineer to join our Erection Engineering team. The role focuses on temporary stability design for steel erection plans, analyzing loading conditions and developing sequencing to ensure safe installation of complex steel structures.
You will perform structural analysis using SAP2000, RISA, RAM, and produce REVIT models and drawings. Collaboration with Project Management and field teams is essential for successful project execution.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.
- EIT certification minimum; PE preferred.
- Min. 2 years of experience in structural design/analysis, preferably in structural steel.
- Proficiency with structural analysis software (SAP2000, RISA, RAM).
- REVIT modeling and drawing production experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Conduct structural analysis for temporary and staged loading conditions.
- Develop erection planning, sequencing, and strategies for safe installation.
- Support crane planning, rigging, and other pre-construction planning.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external clients to ensure project success.
- Identify and resolve constructability issues to facilitate project execution.
- Produce REVIT models and drawings to aid documentation.
