Job summary

Socket.dev's Construction Engineering Group seeks a motivated Construction Engineer to draft and analyze temporary works designs ensuring constructability with contract documents and regulatory requirements. You will draft plans for falsework, shoring, temporary bridges and formwork, and submit designs for peer review with timely approvals to keep projects moving forward on site.

The role requires a Civil/Structural engineering degree, EIT/EI preferred, and knowledge of AutoCAD, RISA, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural or related engineering field required.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) or Engineer Intern (EI) preferred.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, RISA suite and MathCAD are a plus.
• Knowledge and skill in technical writing for clear and efficient communication and understanding.
• Knowledge and understanding of constructability and construction practices.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical input on temporary works construction designs to ensure constructability and compliance to project contract specifications.
• Drafts design plans for temporary works (falsework, shoring, temporary bridges, formwork, slopes, etc.), ensuring completeness and accuracy with regulatory standards and within the contract specifications.
• Designs temporary construction elements ensuring ease of constructability, cost effectiveness with materials onsite or purchased, balancing between optimization and feasibility of onsite project construction.
• Submits design for peer review or approval review in an accurate and timely manner to avoid construction delays on the project site. Senior engineer or manager to seal designs following approval review.
