Job summary

United Veterinary Care seeks an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our busy Emergency & Critical Care team in Austin. You will provide outstanding patient care and client service while collaborating with doctors and leadership.

Shifts are Daytime 6:30 AM–7:00 PM, three 12.5-hour shifts per week, full-time with overtime and weekend requirements. Pay ranges $22.00-$26.00 per hour, with comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent.
Veterinary Technician experience is required.
Licensure is preferred but not required.
Must be able to lift and restrain pets up to 40 pounds.
Excellent customer service, computer, and phone etiquette skills are required.
Ability to bend, stand, stoop, walk, and stand for an extended period of time.

Responsibilities

Triage of critical patients
Communicate effectively with clients regarding patient history, treatment estimates, and admitting and discharging of patients.
Restrain animals for examinations, procedures, and treatments.
Perform venipuncture.
Monitor anesthesia and recover patients post-operatively
Maintain cleanliness and order in work areas.
Perform basic kennel duties as required.
Communicate effectively and efficiently with Doctors and clients regarding their patients' needs.
