Job summary

Pet Specialists of Austin is seeking an Overnight Emergency Veterinary Technician to join our 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital. You will provide skilled nursing care and support triage, monitoring, and procedures under veterinarian direction.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of recent veterinary technician experience required.
• Veterinary emergency, specialty, or critical-care experience strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in routine veterinary procedures and confidence supporting hospitalized and urgent-care patients.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and client-service skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care for emergency and critical-care patients in a fast-paced, 24-hour specialty hospital.
• Support triage, patient assessment, inpatient monitoring, treatments, and outpatient procedures under veterinarian direction.
• Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, medication administration, laboratory testing, radiology support, and specimen collection.
• Assist with emergency procedures, anesthesia, surgery, and CPR while maintaining accurate medical records.
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners and collaborate closely with veterinarians and the emergency care team.
