Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to support our busy Emergency and Critical Care team. You will be involved in anesthesia induction, monitoring and recovery, triage of emergencies, and radiography, while delivering compassionate care to critically ill or injured pets.

Qualifications

• Emergency Veterinary Technician with clinical skills in anesthesia induction, monitoring and recovery.
• Ability to triage emergency cases and assess vitals promptly.
• Comfort with radiography and basic patient handling in an urgent setting.

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases upon arrival, recording vitals (temperature, heart rate, respirations, BP).
• Perform digital radiography with proper technique and patient positioning.
• Monitor vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes or concerns.
• Identify patients at risk and initiate CPR when needed.
• Calculate medical dosages and administer medications via appropriate routes.
• Place IV catheters and manage peripheral venous access; assist with feeding tubes/central lines.
• Mentor and train co-workers; provide compassionate client communication.
