Job summary

Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, ID is seeking an ER Unit Secretary for rotating shifts on a PRN basis. You will provide administrative support to the ED and coordinate with the charge nurse and medical staff to keep patient flow smooth.

You will handle EMR tasks, manage department operations, and participate in special projects as needed. Candidates must have a high school diploma, EMT certification, BLS, and strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• EMT certification required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, Electronic medical records software.
• Ability to work varied shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provides administrative and/or clerical support to ED Director/Manager.
• Under the general direction of the charge nurse (RN) and Medical control.
• Provides EMR support to Staff.
• Assist the department in day-to-day operations.
• Assists in smooth patient flow throughout the Emergency Department, while functioning as the focal communication source.
• Works on special projects as needed/requested.
