Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator to support the Emergency Department under nursing leadership. You will assist with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers, coordinate clerical tasks, manage calls, and help ensure smooth unit operations in a fast-paced environment.

This PRN, on-site role focuses on charting, order transcription, reception duties, and collaboration with nursing staff to deliver patient-centered care.

• Demonstrated clerical or customer service experience

Responsibilities

• Assists with admission, discharge, and transfer of patients; answers call lights; schedules tests and treatments.
• Provides access control to visitor entrances to secure units; performs telemetry duties; may deliver medications.
• Answers phones, processes and files records; transcribes physician orders; maintains unit supplies.
• Demonstrates teamwork, prioritization, communication, and provides excellent customer service.
