Union Hospital · UNION HEALTH REGIONAL HOSPITAL in Terre Haute, IN is seeking a dedicated Unit Secretary for the Emergency Care Department. This full-time, day shift role supports nurses and physicians by managing charts, keeping patient records current, transcribing orders, and coordinating unit activities.

You will work in a fast-paced ED environment, demonstrate strong English communication, and maintain accurate clerical documentation while contributing to a team that values compassionate

Qualifications

• Excellent grasp of English.
• Excellent keyboarding skills preferred.
• Functional or working knowledge of computers preferred.
• Previous Unit Secretary or Ward Clerk experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates awareness of unit activities to promote unit services and supports nursing staff.
• Applies knowledge of basic clerical skills, answers telephone, relays messages, and notifies RN of test results.
• Copies patient care data into records and transcribes physician orders.
• Enters orders and maintains the daily ED log and charts; ensures supplies are available.
