Job summary

The Emergency Room (ER) Technician at Northwest Healthcare provides essential support in the Emergency Department under licensed nursing staff, delivering compassionate patient care and maintaining a clean, well-stocked environment to ensure efficient operations.

Responsibilities include assisting with clinical interventions (splinting, IVs, EKGs), patient transport, accurate EMR documentation, adherence to safety protocols, and effective communication with the care team; weekend and shift

Qualifications

• Technical School completion of Nursing Assistant, EMT, Phlebotomy, or Medical Assistant courses required.
• Certified Nursing Assistant, certified Basic EMT, certified Phlebotomist, or certified Medical Assistant preferred.
• 0-1 years of clinical experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care in the ED under licensed staff.
• Assists with patient transport to units, procedural areas, or discharge destinations.
• Maintains a clean, organized environment following infection control standards.
• Communicates with patients, families, and care team, reporting changes promptly.
• Documents patient care activities in the EMR system.
• Responds quickly to emergencies, aiding the care team as needed.
• Uses PPE and follows safety protocols to protect patients and staff.
• Performs clerical tasks to support unit operations and records management.
• Collaborates with ancillary services to facilitate patient care and operations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
