Job summary

UNC Health in Chapel Hill, NC seeks an Emergency Room Technician II to join the busy UNC Medical Center ED. The role supports patient care, safety, and responsive service across Main ED and Pediatric ED in a Level I Trauma Center, with rotating day/night shifts.

The position requires Nursing Assistant I or EMT licensure, BLS certification, and a preference for 3–6 months of related experience. 36 hours weekly with comprehensive benefits, orientation, and onsite work.

Qualifications

• Currently licensed as a Nursing Assistant I or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or willing to obtain.
• Prefer three to six months relevant experience and/or training.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care and safety in the Emergency Room.
• Take and record vital signs every 2 hours or as directed.
• Document intake/output and physician orders.
• Set up area for sterile procedures and assist with minor procedures.
• Assist in triage, minor treatment and acute areas according to policy.
