Job summary

Community Hospital Emergency Department is seeking a dedicated Patient Care Assistant/Nursing Assistant for full-time evening shifts (3p-11p, 3p-3a, 7p-3a, 11a-11, 11a-7p). The role includes phlebotomy, 12-lead EKGs and assisting nursing staff with patient visits and procedures.

You will maintain records, inventories and charts related to patient care activities, supporting efficient departmental patient flow in a busy ED environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read, write and spell.
  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant program, Registered EMT, Paramedic license, or at least one year of experience as a Patient Care Assistant/Nursing Assistant, or Phlebotomist.
  • Fundamental understanding of medical terminology and computer.

POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the manager (or designee) according to established practices, performs patient care services (such as phlebotomy and 12 Lead EKGs), assists the medical and nursing staff with patient visits and procedures. Assists nursing personnel in maintaining efficient and effective departmental patient flow by maintaining records, inventories and charts related to patient care activities.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE :
  • The level of knowledge ordinarily acquired through the completion of high school level course work
  • Ability to read, write and spell
  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant program, Registered EMT, Paramedic license ,or at least one year of experience as a Patient Care Assistant/Nursing Assistant, or Phlebotomist.
  • Fundamental understanding of medical terminology and computer.
