Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an ER Technician for Newark Beth Israel Medical Center with a per diem Day shift. You will support RN staff, assist with vital signs, phlebotomy, and bedside care, and help monitor patient conditions while maintaining a caring and compassionate approach.

You will document in the EHR, adhere to infection control protocols, and participate in the care plan from admission to discharge to ensure safe outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current American Heart Association BLS certification is required.
• Nursing assistant experience or clinical exposure from an accredited program preferred or a CNA certificate.
• Able to assist with daily activities and vital sign measurements.

Responsibilities

• Assist with vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy and bedside nursing care.
• Monitor patient status and document in the electronic health record.
• Support nurses in care plans and ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Communicate with patients, families and healthcare providers to coordinate care.
• Apply BLS in emergency situations and maintain infection control practices.
• Assist with activities of daily living and mobility as needed.
• Record accurate information and participate in patient plan of care from admission to discharge.
• Collaborate with the care team to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes.
