Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health's Emergency Department in Hamilton seeks an ED Technician to provide direct patient care under a nurse's supervision. The role requires technical procedures, strong communication, and good time management.

Night shifts, every other weekend and rotating holidays are typical. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma and BLS; telemetry certification must be completed within 3 months.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS through American Heart Association is required.
• Telemetry certification required within 3 months of employment.
• Prior experience in patient care is preferred.
• Nurse's Aide Certification and medical terminology are preferred.

Responsibilities

Job Overview

Emergency Department Technician provides direct care to a defined group of patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse. Has the ability to perform technical procedures, works various shifts requiring prolonged periods of walking and standing, utilizes communication skills, good interpersonal skills, time management, and problem solving skills

Required

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• BLS required through American Heart Association
• Telemetry certification is required within 3 months of employment,

• Ability to communicate and collaborate with others effectively
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
