Job summary

Emerus is seeking an Emergency Room Technician/ER Tech/Paramedic for a FLOAT position across multiple small-format hospitals. Shift is Day (7A–7P) with full-time status and perks including differential night/weekend shifts, mileage reimbursement, and a robust 401K match.

The role supports patient care, lab work, and safety across locations in Pennsylvania. The ideal candidate holds EMT-P/AEMT or Paramedic credentials with ER experience, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and is fluent in English.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• ACLS/ALS certification is required in most markets.
• PALS certification is strongly preferred.
• PA Act 33 and Act 73 clearances may be required before start date.
• Fluency in English is required.

Responsibilities

• Collect, report, and document clinical data; take vital signs, height/weight, intake/output, pulse oximetry, and specimens.
• Collect laboratory samples and perform testing per policies and CLIA regulations.
• Assist with patient activities and care as directed by the charge nurse.
• Provide superficial wound care.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and ensure proper aseptic technique and infection control.
• Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
• Prepare patients and chaperone during examinations/procedures.
• Travel to all facility locations as required.
• Attend staff meetings and other mandated meetings.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

EMT-P / AEMT / Paramedic certification

Nursing student enrolled with one year of experience

ER Technician with 2+ years ER experience

CNA with hospital experience (Wisconsin market only)
