Job summary

Northern Light Mercy Hospital in Portland, ME is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to provide direct and supportive patient care under licensed care providers, greeting patients, answering phones, preparing rooms and transporting specimens.

Under supervision, you will assist with patient assessment activities (phlebotomy, 12-Lead ECGs, vital signs), help develop care plans, and support safety and environmental standards in line with hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Required Certified Nursing Assistant
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and visitors; assist with Quick Registration as needed.
• Assist in collecting data to support patient assessment (phlebotomy, 12-Lead ECGs, vital signs).
• Collaborate to develop and implement a plan of care under the direction of a licensed nurse.
• Perform procedures directed toward achieving expected outcomes and ensure safety.
• Coordinate safe transport of patients and supplies; maintain a safe environment per policy.
