Job summary

Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, Maine, is seeking a Nursing Support Technician for the Emergency Department. This full-time role (36 hours/week) operates 7:00 AM–7:30 PM and provides direct and supportive patient care under licensed supervision.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, assisting with registrations, collecting data for assessments, and helping transport specimens. EMT-like tasks may be involved.

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) required.
• BLS certification required.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and visitors and may perform Quick Registration.
• Assist in data collection to support patient assessment (phlebotomy, 12-Lead ECGs, vital signs).
• Assist in developing a plan of care under supervision of the clinical nurse.
• Perform procedures directed toward achieving expected outcomes.
• Facilitate outcome evaluation through communication with the clinical nurse.
• Promote safety for patients, staff and visitors; ensure supplies are available.
• Assist with unit support activities and safe transport of patients and items.
