Job summary

MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC seeks an Emergency Services Support Assistant to join our ED team. The role blends clinical, clerical, and administrative support to ensure smooth patient flow and care delivery in a fast-paced environment.

You will assist with patient admissions from the ED, support nursing and medical staff, answer and route calls, and participate in quality improvement initiatives while upholding MedStar's SPIRIT values.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under supervision and assist with procedures per policy.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and inform nursing/medical staff; forward records to follow-up providers.
• Assist patient admissions from the ED; answer phones and route calls.
• Engage in Quality Improvement activities; mentor new staff; participate in QI projects.
• Uphold SPIRIT values; observe patients as Observation Attendant.
