Job summary

Medical City Denton seeks an Emergency Room Supervisor (CNC) to lead the shift, coordinate nursing staff, and ensure high-quality, patient-centered care. The CNC directs and evaluates nursing care, serving as a resource to staff while aligning with the hospital’s vision and values.

The role requires active RN licensure with an Associate Degree and preferred BSN, plus critical certifications (ACLS, BCLS, ENPC, NRP, PALS, STABLE, TNCC).

Qualifications

• 1+ year of ER nursing experience.
• ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• BCLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• ENPC must be obtained within 18 months of employment start date.
• NRP must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
• PALS must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• STABLE must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
• TNCC must be obtained within 18 months of employment start date.
• RN; Associate Degree Required, BSN Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high quality, patient-centered care.
• Participates in ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services in the unit, in collaboration with management.
• Collaborates with subject matter experts and managers to create a teamwork-focused environment for improved outcomes.
• Supports a patient-first philosophy and engages in service recovery when necessary.
• Supports nursing strategies like employee rounding and hourly rounds to improve engagement.
• Provides recommendations on interviewing, staff training, and performance management to maintain a competitive organization.
• Assists with staff scheduling and manages labor within patient care needs and productivity guidelines.
• Supports inventory control and assists with managing supplies and equipment.
