Job summary

HCA Florida West Tampa Hospital in Tampa, FL is seeking an ER Registered Nurse to deliver high‑quality, compassionate care in a fast-paced emergency department. You will triage, assist with exams, administer medications and maintain accurate patient records.

We welcome licensed FL RNs or compact licensure with active FL license within 60 days. An ASN or Nursing Diploma is required; BSN is preferred, with ACLS/PALS/NIHSS certifications within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a Florida Registered Nurse or have a valid compact license with active FL RN license within 60 days of hire.
• Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
• BLS certification; ACLS within 6 months; PALS and/or ENPC within 6 months; NIHSS certification within 6 months.
• Critical thinking, service excellence and strong interpersonal communication skills; PC skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage efficient flow of patients including triage, screening, preparation for exam, general nursing care, testing and admissions.
• Instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions.
• Maintain and review patients’ records including posting tests and examination results.
• Administer medications in accordance with physician orders.
