Job summary

Northwest Health - La Porte Hospital is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse in the ER. The RN will deliver patient-centered care using the nursing process, coordinate care with physicians and the team, and educate patients and families.

The position emphasizes rapid assessment, safety, and high-quality outcomes in a busy emergency department. The ideal candidate has 0-2 years of acute care nursing experience, valid RN licensure, and BCLS; ACLS/PALS/NRP are preferred.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting required
• Nursing knowledge focused on assessment, planning, and evaluation
• Ability to work in fast-paced emergency care with protocols

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care according to nursing process
• Documents findings and reports changes promptly to care team
• Administers medications and monitors side effects
• Assists physicians during procedures within competency and scope
• Responds to emergencies, CPR and code team involvement as appropriate
• Educates patients and families about conditions and discharge care
