Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking an experienced RN for the Emergency Department in Norfolk, VA. This full-time position offers 36 hours per week on the second shift (1:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m.), joining a Level I Trauma Center and a high-performing emergency nursing team.

The role includes opportunities for sign-on bonus up to $15,000 and relocation assistance, with comprehensive benefits and support for professional development within a Magnet hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Registered Nursing required
• BSN or MSN preferred
• Students completing an accredited nursing program may be considered
• Registered Nurse license required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire
• NIHSS, TCRN, SCRN, TNCC, CEN, PALS, and ACLS preferred
• Prior RN experience preferred
• Emergency Department experience preferred
• Strong candidates with related acute care, critical care, intermediate care, trauma, cardiac, stroke, or med/surg experience are encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

• Care for Emergency Department patients in a fast-paced environment
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver timely care
• Provide high-quality, patient-centered emergency nursing care

Education
