Job summary

Corewell Health's Dearborn Hospital Emergency Center is a 57-bed Level II trauma unit providing comprehensive emergency care for newborns to geriatric patients. The department emphasizes patient-family centered care, education, and collaboration in a teaching hospital setting.

The RN scope includes assessing and planning care, delivering treatments under the Nurse Leader, and documenting education in the health record.

Qualifications

• Associates or Diploma in Nursing required.
• Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years if new graduate/nurse with less than one (1) year experience
• Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed health care role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination
• MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire/transfer from one of the following organizations - American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Canadian Heart and Stroke.
• ACLS within 6 months of hire/transfer. TNCC within 1 year of hire/transfer. ENPC within 15 months of hire/transfer
• Specialty Certification highly recommended within 2 years
• Prefer RN experience. Will consider Graduate Nurses

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care using the nursing process.
• Incorporate patient/family centered care principles in planning, implementing, evaluating, and discharge.
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge per ANA scope of practice.
• Document patient education and learning in the health record.
• Collaborate with patient/family to align goals in the plan of care.
