Job summary

Hudson Regional Health in Hoboken, NJ, seeks a part-time Emergency Room Registered Nurse for evening shifts. The RN will assess, triage, and intervene in urgent cases, collaborating with physicians and the care team to stabilize patients and educate families on discharge planning.

The role requires active NJ RN licensure, BLS, ACLS/PALS as applicable, and 1+ year in ED/acute care, with EHR experience and a commitment to patient safety.

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license in New Jersey.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• ACLS certification or must obtain within 6 months of hire date.
• PALS certification or must obtain within 6 months of hire date.
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification or must obtain by end of orientation.
• Minimum of 1 year experience working in an emergency department or acute care setting.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform rapid and accurate patient assessments upon arrival to determine the severity of conditions and prioritize care.
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by physicians, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and standards.
• Monitor patient vital signs and clinical status continuously, documenting changes and communicating critical information promptly to the healthcare team.
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Provide emotional support and clear communication to patients and their families during stressful and emergency situations.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including nursing notes, medication administration, and treatment outcomes.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with emergency nursing best practices and protocols.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and infection control standards within the emergency department.
