Job summary

Hudson Regional Hospital in Hoboken, NJ is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department. You will assess, triage, and provide immediate nursing care to patients with urgent and life‑threatening conditions, collaborating with physicians and the care team.

You will educate patients and families, document care, and participate in ongoing training to uphold ED standards and patient safety in a fast‑paced urban environment.

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license in New Jersey
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
• BLS certification (AHA)
• ACLS certification or must obtain within 6 months of hire
• PALS certification or must obtain within 6 months of hire
• NIH Stroke Scale certification or must obtain by end of orientation
• Minimum 1 year ED/acute care experience
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills

Responsibilities

• Perform rapid and accurate patient assessments on arrival in ED to determine severity and triage appropriately
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring safety
• Monitor vital signs and patient status continuously; document and communicate changes promptly
• Collaborate with physicians and specialists to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Provide emotional support and clear communication to patients and families during emergencies
• Maintain accurate nursing notes, medication administration, and treatment outcomes
• Participate in ongoing training to stay current with ED best practices and protocols
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control standards in ED
