Job summary

Crawford Memorial Hospital's Emergency Department seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to provide professional nursing care, coordinate care planning, and respond to changes in patient condition. You will collaborate with ED physicians to manage treatment plans, ensure timely documentation, and promote patient safety in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate holds an IL RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS/TNCC certifications, and 4+ years of RN experience.

Qualifications

• Active IL RN license required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC or eligible within timelines.
• Minimum 4 years RN experience preferred.
• Strong communication and patient-care skills.
• Proficient in EMR navigation and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive ED patient assessment and age-appropriate triage.
• Plan and adjust care; educate patient and family on discharge instructions.
• Monitor vitals, interpret results, and address dysrhythmias.
• Administer medications; start IV/IO lines as needed.
• Ensure timely, accurate documentation and patient safety.
• Communicate status changes with ED physicians promptly.
• Support hand-off communications and performance improvement.
• Respond to patient calls and address needs quickly.
• Adhere to safety policies and department security.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
