Job summary

Fairfield Memorial Hospital is actively recruiting a compassionate Registered Nurse for our Emergency Department. The RN will deliver direct patient care, perform assessments, monitor patients, and document care in a fast-paced setting.

The role requires an Illinois RN license, BLS, and 3+ years of RN experience with preference for ED/acute care. ACLS, PALS, and TNCC/TNS must be completed within specified timeframes. A strong focus on teamwork, education, and infection control is essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Illinois RN license and BLS certification.
• ACLS within 3 months; PALS within 6 months; TNCC/TNS within 1 year.
• Minimum of 3 years RN experience; 18 months acute/CC or ED preferred.
• Pediatric education requirement: 8 hours every 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care with assessments, monitoring, and documentation.
• Accurately triage patients and respond to emergent situations.
• Administer medications and IV therapies safely and effectively.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams on care plans.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care.
• Supervise ED Technicians and orient new staff.
• Maintain compliance with safety, infection control, and department standards.
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives and provide updates.
