Job summary

Covington Hospital seeks an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver rapid, comprehensive care for patients in emergencies. The role covers assessment, triage, and urgent treatment across all ages, with supervision of ED staff and collaboration with physicians.

The ideal candidate holds an accredited nursing degree, active state licensure, and current CPR/BLS, with ACLS, PALS or ENPC and TNCC preferred. English fluency and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Two years of emergency room experience.
• Current licensure with the State Board of Nurse Examiners.
• Current BCLS/CPR, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, and TNCC preferred.
• Educational background aligned with age-specific needs of ED patients.

Responsibilities

• Conduct head-to-toe patient assessments and psychosocial evaluations.
• Triage patients and assign urgency for timely care.
• Provide age-diverse emergency care per protocols.
• Administer medications following five rights.
• Supervise ED staff and support personnel.
• Advocate for patients and explain procedures and plans.
• Collaborate with physicians on care plans.
• Maintain infection control practices and a safe environment.
• Participate in ongoing education and quality improvement.
