Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health's Jersey City Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department on day shift. The role requires an active NJ RN license, BLS, and strong clinical skills; the pay range is $47.85–$67.04 per hour for this New Jersey position.

The RN will perform comprehensive patient assessments, administer medications, advocate for patients, document in EPIC, and participate in interdisciplinary rounds to ensure safe, coordinated care. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing.
• American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing strongly preferred.
• Experience in emergency nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes.
• Provide safe, evidence-based medications and hands-on care.
• Serve as a clinical partner to physicians and providers.
• Educate patients and families clearly and compassionately.
• Document accurately in the electronic medical record (EPIC).
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and coordinated care decisions.
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment and continuous improvement.
• Engage in continuing education and professional growth.
