Job summary

Ally Medical Emergency Room in Bastrop, TX is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our emergency department. You will triage and deliver direct patient care, support physicians during exams and procedures, administer medications, and monitor patients through assessment and discharge.

The ideal candidate holds an RN license in Texas, with CPR/BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications, and at least two years of ER experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Two years ER nursing experience preferred.
• Current RN license in state.
• CPR/BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• Prolonged standing and lifting up to 50 pounds may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care by evaluating the medical complaint or current symptoms and report to physician.
• Works directly under physicians, assisting them during exams, procedures, diagnostic testing and treatments.
• Per physicians’ orders performs IV initiation/infusion/therapy, blood draws, cardiac monitoring, pulse oximetry, applies oxygen, administers nebulized treatment, cleans and bandages wounds, applies splints, and provides basic bedside care.
• Recognizes and effectively treats life-threatening conditions.
• Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments across pediatric, adolescent, geriatric and general patient populations.
• Assists physicians with procedures including laceration repair, moderate sedation, incision and drainage, intubation, chest tube insertion, foreign body removal, and reporting events as needed.
• Prepares and administers medications ordered by the physician and records administration and related data in the patient’s medical record.
• Reviews all discharge instructions with patient and records vitals and status prior to discharge to ensure stability.
• Records all patient medical care information concisely, accurately and timely in the patient medical record.
