Job summary

Baptist Health Shelby Hospital in Alabaster, AL seeks a dedicated Advanced Care Registered Nurse ECMO Specialist to join our ICU team. This role supports complex life-sustaining care in a high-acuity unit with advanced technology and a collaborative, patient-first approach.

The ECMO Specialist collaborates with physicians, perfusionists, and bedside staff to ensure perfusion, adjust the ECMO circuit, administer blood products when ordered, and manage crises with composure.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Orlando Health and unit/department.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates advanced nursing skills to care for patients with high-acuity needs.
• Collaborates with medical staff to plan and manage patient care.
• Manages and monitors ECMO equipment and responds to crises.
• Maintains accurate patient documentation and adheres to safety standards.
• Mentors and supports other team members in the unit.
