Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare North Cypress in Cypress, TX is hiring an Emergency Room RN to join a fast-paced 24/7 emergency care team. This role supports adult and pediatric patients across a Level III Trauma Center and affiliated freestanding ERs.

You will coordinate care, perform EKG monitoring, document in Meditech, and collaborate with physicians and care teams to ensure timely dispositions and excellent patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (diploma/ADN/BSN).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Current Texas RN license or Multi-State Compact with TX license within 90 days.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
• TNCC within 6 months of hire
• ER nursing experience 1 year minimum

Responsibilities

• Applies the nursing process to a group of patients; evaluates outcomes and adjusts care.
• Delegates patient care to licensed and unlicensed staff based on acuity and staff availability.
• Participates in case management and cost containment.
• Demonstrates accountability for direct patient care and outcomes.
• Documents all aspects of patient care in Meditech EMR.
• Performs timely assessments and care to expedite patient disposition.
• Interprets patient EKGs and manages telemetry.
• Performs laboratory functions at the emergency centers as needed.
