Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Northw est is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Emergency Room on a PRN basis to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.

The RN will collaborate with physicians and the care team, ensuring effective pain management, timely documentation, patient education, and ongoing assessments as part of a commitment to exceptional clinical outcomes and the organization’s mission.

Qualifications

• ACLS within 30 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of employment start date
• Trauma Nursing Core Course within 6 months of employment start date
• RN: Registered Nurse
• Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course or PALS within 6 months of employment start date
• Bachelor's Degree or Associate Degree

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s) and documents care in the patient medical record.
• Performs exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests and anticipates needs.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about medical conditions, status, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up measures; translates complex medical terminology for understanding.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about non-medicinal follow-up measures and prepares for future self-management.
