HCA Houston Healthcare North Cypress is seeking an Emergency Room Registered Nurse to join a high-performing ER team. You will coordinate care, assess patients, and collaborate with physicians across 24/7 coverage and a Level III trauma center.

Requires Texas RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and TNCC within 6 months. Minimum 1 year ER experience and strong EKG/telemetry skills are expected.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (diploma/AA/BSN).
• Current Texas RN license or multi-state license with Texas license within 90 days.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS from AHA; TNCC within 6 months of hire.
• Minimum 1 year ER/trauma nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver high-quality patient-centered care in the ER.
• Assess, treat, teach, and manage patients using established nursing models.
• Document care using Meditech EMR and ensure timely disposition of ER patients.
• Interpret EKGs and monitor telemetry; delegate duties based on acuity.
• Collaborate with physicians and care teams to support outcomes.

Clinical care is delivered at our main hospital emergency department—a state-of-the-art, designatedLevel III Trauma Center, accreditedChest Pain Center, and certifiedStroke Center—as well as our four affiliated HCA Houston ER 24/7 freestanding emergency care centers located atCopperfield, Fry Road, Towne Lake, and Willow brook, with seamless continuity supported by our network of Care Now urgent care clinics. Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and models a commitment to the organization’s vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.

What you will do in this role:

• Applies the nursing process to a group of patients. Evaluates outcomes of patient care, consults with other disciplines as required and adjusts the plan of care as necessary to ensure optimal service.
• Ensure appropriate delivery of patient care for a group of patients according to policy and procedure; assigns and/or delegates patient care assignments to licensed and non-licensed nursing staff, based on acuity, needs of the patient, staff availability and qualifications.
• Participates and facilitates in the case management process and cost containment for patients.
• Demonstrates accountability for direct patient care and evaluation of patient outcomes.
• Documents all aspects of patient care efficiently and effectively, utilizing Meditech EMR.
• Performs assessments and delivers care in a timely manner to facilitate the timely disposition of the ER patients, considering the acuity of the patients and patient satisfaction.
• Demonstrates ability to interpret patient’s EKG and manage EKG monitoring/telemetry.

• Performs Laboratory Functions at the Emergency Centers as needed

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate of an accredited diploma, associates, or baccalaureate degree registered nursing program.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS issued from American Heart Association required
• TNCC within 6 months of hire date
• 1 year of clinical ER experience as a licensed RN required.
