Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to plan, deliver, and manage direct patient care using the nursing process within a busy hospital setting.

You will perform assessments, develop individualized care plans, coordinate discharge planning, and supervise nursing staff to ensure high-quality patient outcomes. Current MA RN licensure and BLS are required, ACLS preferred for some units, with a BSN encouraged.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration.
• BLS is a requirement for every RN unless ACLS certification is current, in addition to any unit specific certifications and competencies.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing highly preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of the discipline of Nursing.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the Nursing Process for the delivery and management of patient’s care from Admission to Discharge, appropriate to the developmental age of the patient population.
• Performs patient assessment/reassessment according to standard procedure.
• Develops and coordinates individual plan of care including discharge planning.
• Directs, supervises, coordinates and evaluates nursing care within assigned clinical setting.
• Delegates appropriately to others in accordance with job description and competency level.
