Qualifications

• 2 years registration experience in a Level 1 Trauma facility, Hospital ED or high volume outpatient setting preferred.
• Knowledge of medical insurance products and benefits and authorization requirements.
• Familiarity with EMTALA, HIPAA and Joint Commission regulations related to patient access.
• Proficiency in patient interviews with accuracy under stress.
• Excellent customer service and communication in a fast-paced ED.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify insurance information.
• Perform insurance verification, revenue collection and copay processing.
• Ensure patient safety, privacy compliance and regulatory adherence.
• Refer patients to needed resources and coordinate referrals.
• Deliver outstanding customer service in a high-volume Emergency Department.
• Maintain accurate patient data in the EPIC ED system.
