Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Required or GED.
• 1-3 years hospital registration experience preferred.
• 1-3 years familiarity with EMR systems; EPIC preferred.
• Typing at least 45 wpm; proficient data entry.
• Knowledge of medical insurances and terminology.
• Detail oriented with multi-tasking ability.
• Bilingual helpful but not required.
• Onboarding includes required patient financial services training.

Responsibilities

• Receipts & greets all patients arriving to the ER main entrance or ambulance entrance.
• Registers patients promptly; verifies two patient identifiers and provides ID bracelets.
• Uses HIS/EMR to record demographics, insurance eligibility, copays, and corrects data.
• Collects patient co-pays and deposits daily into secured envelopes with receipts.
• Assists with language interpretation as needed and ensures EMTALA/HIPAA compliance.
