Job summary

Northwest Health - Porter is seeking an ER Registrar to manage patient intake and registration in the Emergency Department, handling personal, insurance, and medical information with confidentiality and a focus on accurate documentation. You will verify IDs, assist with insurance questions, collect co-pays, and coordinate with clinical and administrative teams to keep patient flow moving smoothly.

Schedule includes Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 7am–3pm, with a commitment to excellent customer

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in medical office or healthcare administration preferred.
• 0-2 years of healthcare front desk/registration experience required.
• 0-2 years of customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and families professionally and compassionately.
• Register patients for emergency services and collect required information.
• Verify ID and insurance details; update records as needed.
• Obtain signatures on consent forms and explain them clearly.
• Verify insurance coverage and plan codes for billing.
• Collect co-pays/deductibles and explain financial obligations.
• Assist with insurance questions and requirements as needed.
• Document when patients cannot sign and involve nursing as needed.
• Maintain patient armbands and proper identification throughout visit.
• Notify departments of patient arrival and follow up on delays.
