Job summary

Northwest Health is seeking an ER Registrar to manage patient intake and registration in the Emergency Department. You will collect and verify personal, insurance, and medical information while maintaining confidentiality and delivering excellent service to patients and families.

The role supports accurate documentation, insurance verification, and smooth communication across clinical and administrative teams to facilitate efficient department operations.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in medical office or healthcare administration preferred.
• 0-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting including patient registration or front desk.
• 0-2 years of experience in customer service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and families professionally and compassionately.
• Register patients for emergency services, obtaining required information.
• Verify patient identity and insurance details, update records as needed.
• Explain and obtain signatures on consent forms where required.
• Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for billing purposes.
• Collect co-pays and inform patients of financial obligations.
• Assist patients with insurance requirements and questions.
• Document thoroughly when a patient cannot sign or has a family signer.
• Notify physicians/departments of patient arrival and manage wait times.
• Maintain clear communication during emergencies and follow facility plans.
