Job summary

St. Mary's Hospital in Kankakee (Emergency Services) is seeking a Registered Nurse for full-time night shifts (7p–7:30a) in Telemetry and the Emergency Department. The role requires active RN licensure, BLS, ALS, and PALS/ENPC certifications; CEN and BSN preferred. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is available for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• ALS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• PALS certificate and/or ENPC 60 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice in Telemetry and Emergency Department.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing staff while maintaining professional standards.
• Communicate with the physician about changes in the patient’s condition and test results; respond quickly to changes in status.
