Job summary

The Emergency Department RN at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs delivers evidence-based, patient-centered care in a fast-paced ED setting. The role includes triage, rapid assessment, and collaboration with the care team to develop and implement individualized care plans.

Required are an active RN license in the U.S., English proficiency, and VA-specific credentials. The position emphasizes leadership, education, and quality improvement, with comprehensive VA benefits and a rotation

Qualifications

Must be proficient in English for written and spoken communication.
Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate accrediting agency and accredited by ACEN or CCNE.
OR individuals in a master's level bridge program in nursing may become registered with a state licensing board prior to completion.
Current, full, active, and unrestricted nursing licensure in a US state, territory, or DC.

Responsibilities

Provide competent, evidence-based care in the Emergency Department.
Delegate and supervise LPNs and unlicensed assistive personnel.
Direct nursing education, orientation, competencies, and quality improvement activities.
Deliver urgent and emergent care for medical, psychiatric conditions, and stabilization.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality patient outcomes.
