Job summary

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering competent, evidence-based care to assigned patients with acute and chronic conditions. You will delegate and supervise LPNs and UAPs, participate in education, orientation, and quality improvement, and act as a leader within a dynamic ED team.

The role requires current RN licensure, BSN preferred, and strong English proficiency. The VA offers extensive nurse rewards and EDRP options to eligible staff.

Qualifications

• Must be proficient in spoken and written English.
• Current, full, active RN license in the United States.
• Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by ACEN or CCNE.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent, evidence-based nursing care in the Emergency Department.
• Delegate and supervise licensed practical nurses and unlicensed assistive personnel.
• Direct nursing education, orientation, and competencies; participate in quality improvement.
